Addressing Symptoms of Brain Injury

🕑 2 minutes read

Traumatic brain injuries come with a list of symptoms that can affect your health, along with your overall well-being. Thus, our multi-sensory program and specialized headphones were created to address symptoms connected to brain injuries and help improve brain function.

Two types of brain injuries

A brain injury can be either traumatic or acquired.

Traumatic brain injuries occur when an external force is in play, like a car accident or falling and hitting your head.

Acquired brain injuries occur when something internal causes brain trauma, like a blood clot or a stroke.

Both come with various symptoms that can greatly impact one’s mental, physical, and emotional health.

Symptoms of traumatic brain injuries

At iLs, our main focus is on symptoms that can cause both cognitive and emotional problems. Many people experience the following symptoms to varying degrees based on the severity of the injury:

  • Concentration problems
  • Mood swings
  • Impulsivity
  • Aggressiveness
  • Sleep deprivation
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Language processing
  • Reading and writing problems
  • Memory problems
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea

Our multi-sensory programs can be specialized to each user to help improve brain function after a traumatic head injury.

Change your brain

Neuroplasticity has the proven ability to change the brain, so by using specific and gentle stimuli to strengthen and form new neural pathways and connections in the brain, the iLs program has had a positive effect on:

  • Attention and regulation
  • Auditory processing
  • Ability to learn
  • Reading
  • Speech
  • Sensory processing

Our goal has always been to find a way to improve brain function by systematically integrating music and movement, as well as language exercises. We have found that our multi-sensory programs, when used consistently and repeatedly, have a profound effect on each patient’s cognition as well as emotional health.
