We are so pleased to be able to share a recorded version of a conversation Deb Dana had recently with Liam O Mahony, Accredited Psychotherapist and Addiction Counsellor and Co-Founder of PCPSI* on a Polyvagal Approach to COVID-19.

Dr. Porges published an article in Clinical Neuropsychology last month in which he said, “the pandemic impacts on our biological imperative to connect.” As ever, Deb translates this insight into working with clients to help them understand the physiology behind their behavior and feelings.

Deb Dana works as a clinician, consultant, lecturer, and Coordinator of the Traumatic Stress Research Consortium in the Kinsey Institute. She is focused on using the lens of Polyvagal Theory to understand and resolve the impact of trauma and create ways of working that honour the role of the autonomic nervous system as we move through states of protection and connection in an ongoing quest for safety. The autonomic nervous system is a common denominator in the human family. We all share the same biobehavioral platform.

If you are interested to learn more about Deb Dana and her work, you can sign up for the five-part series of webinars PCPSI is hosting with her titled Looking Through the Lens of Polyvagal Theory. In addition, PCPSI will offer a 4-day workshop with Deb in November, 2020 entitled Engaging the Rhythm of Regulation the Foundations of Polyvagal Informed Practice. PCPSI has generously offered a 10% discount off webinar prices with the use of this coupon: citstudent10. Recordings of all of the webinars will be included in case you have to miss one live.

*The vision of PCPSI (Professional Counselling & Psychotherapy Seminars Ireland) is to invite leaders from the related fields of Attachment, Trauma, Addiction and Neuroscience to Ireland, so that we, as trained counsellors, psychotherapists and students can benefit from internationally recognised trainers, authors and practitioners.
