Dear Unyte Community,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of Dr. Ron Minson, a visionary pioneer in the field of mind-body wellness. Dr. Minson, an extraordinary physician, thinker, and advocate for the betterment of human health, left us on Friday, September 1.

I don’t know where to start, other than to say he was such a wonderful, inspiring soul. He had a deep passion for helping those who were suffering, and he made it his life’s work. He also lived life to the fullest and had so much love and passion for his wife, Kate, his family, his dog, and his interests, such as classical music and cycling.

His passing leaves a void in our hearts, but his legacy of compassion, innovation, and healing will forever resonate within the Unyte family and the broader community.

Dr. Minson dedicated his life to the pursuit of holistic well-being and the understanding of the profound connection between mind and body. In 1990, Dr. Minson learned of the broad effectiveness of sound therapy after witnessing the successful treatment of a family member for severe dyslexia and depression. He subsequently studied several sound therapy techniques before developing Dynamic Listening Systems, which he integrated into his psychiatric practice, and later contributed his knowledge and wisdom to practitioners of Integrated Listening Systems (iLs), which was founded in 2007 by his wife, Kate, and Randall Redfield, and which became a part of Unyte in 2019.

iLs provided a first-of-its-kind portable bone conduction system, and, with the integration of auditory, vestibular, balance and movement activities, a very effective intervention that was quickly adopted by clinicians around the world. Today, the Focus System, or Integrated Listening System as it is known, is available from Unyte Health, where Dr. Minson most recently served as a Clinical Consultant.

Through his tireless efforts, Dr. Minson has touched the lives of countless individuals around the world. Beyond his remarkable contributions to the field of mind-body wellness, Dr. Minson was a compassionate, humble, and empathic soul who forged deep connections with all he encountered. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of others served as an inspiration to us all.

For me, personally, he became one of my closest spiritual friends and confidantes. I will miss him and our regular conversations dearly. As sad as it is to lose a bright light like “Dr. Ron,” I can say without a doubt that his was a life well lived.

For those of you who didn’t know him well, or who would like to know more, this wonderful story written along with his wife Kate about their journey and purpose is a must-read.

In his memory, we are committed to continuing Dr. Minson’s legacy and upholding the principles and values he held dear. We will ensure that his pioneering work continues to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals seeking healing and transformation.

As we navigate this difficult time, we extend our deepest sympathies to Dr. Minson’s family, friends, and colleagues, and invite you to attend Dr. Minson’s Celebration of Life virtually via Zoom, RSVP to attend in-person, and view his obituary here to share your memories, tributes, and condolences.
