March is Brain Injury Awareness Month and it’s a good time to understand more about the most common brain injury: concussion.  Also known as a mild traumatic brain injury, a concussion is caused by a bump, blow or jolt (as in whiplash) to the head that disrupts the normal function of the brain.  Each year, as many as 4 million people will suffer a concussion in the United States alone.
