Engineering Manager

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Engineering Manager to play a key role in leading our engineering team developing our unique products and platform. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Lead a small, but mighty, engineering team
• Practice and evangelize software engineering, development and delivery best practices
• Take responsibility for the architecture, design, development and overall codebase of the Unyte stack including front-end user experiences, backend platform, API’s, services and mobile apps
• Take a hands-on approach, leading by example, including coding when necessary
• Work with Product Managers and across Unyte to ensure efficient feature delivery
• Relentlessly focus on user experience, platform stability, scale and operational efficiency
• Implement and adhere to software security best practices

YOU ARE A GREAT CANDIDATE IF YOU HAVE:

• The desire to work for an organization committed to making a positive impact in people’s lives
• Team lead experience with serverless technologies and cloud architectures
• Experience managing product development engineering teams
• Significant development experience with Node.js, Python and JavaScript
• Experience running production platforms on AWS
• Familiarity with microservices and associated architectural patterns
• Solid knowledge of testing frameworks, continuous delivery and continuous deployment
• Interpersonal and communication skills so effective everyone enjoys working with you
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• The need to enjoy growing, learning and being stretched beyond your role

WOULD BE A PLUS IF YOU HAVE:

• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with HIPAA or similar security standards
• Solid foundation and understanding of high availability system architectures
• Comprehensive knowledge of modern databases, data analysis and analytics
• Startup experience working in an iterative, agile product development environment
• An understanding of, and a passion for health, wellness and mindfulness industries
