Clarifying Delivery Model Options for SSP
A practical training designed to help providers confidently select, adapt, and implement SSP, RRP, and ILS delivery models based on each client’s unique needs and therapeutic context.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to delivering listening therapies. This course is designed to help providers build confidence and clinical reasoning when selecting and implementing SSP delivery models across a wide range of client presentations and practice settings. Providers will explore the four core delivery models — face-to-face, independent, group, and hybrid delivery — and gain clarity on how provider roles, monitoring responsibilities, and program planning shift across each model.
Through practical examples and real-world clinical scenarios, this training examines how factors such as co-regulation, caregiver capacity, therapeutic alliance, access to technology, listening environment, scheduling, and client readiness influence delivery decisions. Participants will also explore synchronous versus asynchronous delivery approaches, considerations for remote and caregiver-mediated implementation, and how to safely titrate listening experiences over time. Emphasis is placed on collaboration, flexibility, and adapting delivery models as client needs evolve throughout the therapeutic process.
By the end of the course, providers will be better equipped to:
- Identify the four primary delivery models used for SSP
- Understand the provider’s role and responsibilities within each model
- Apply clinical reasoning to determine which delivery approach may best support client outcomes across varying contexts and levels of complexity
Being with & Doing With (Co-regulation & Co-occupation): Relationship as a regulator
