As an Internal Family Systems (IFS) practitioner, what strategies do you apply to your treatment approach that consider your client’s nervous system state when working with parts? Reflect on your current approach with these three questions:

  • How does my client’s brainstate influence their ability to access Self and engage with parts?
  • Am I creating enough safety and connection before inviting deeper exploration?
  • Could integrating complementary listening therapies enhance regulation, increase access to Self and improve therapeutic outcomes?

IFS is rooted in safety, curiosity and connection — yet access to these qualities depends heavily on the nervous system. When clients are dysregulated, even well-timed interventions can feel out of reach. Thoughtful integration of IFS and listening therapies can help establish the conditions that support regulation, Self-energy and meaningful engagement with both wounded and protective parts.

Explore this integrative approach further with Frank Anderson, MD, and Marcella Cox, LMFT, CEDS-C, in this free, on-demand webinar. Led by the two IFS experts, this session highlights how combining IFS and listening therapies can deepen clinical impact through intentional, nervous system-informed care.

This webinar will help you:

  • Discover how an integrative approach based on your clients’ nervous system state can yield even greater outcomes.
  • Make sense of the Autonomic Nervous System through an IFS lens, identifying the crucial connections and impact on your clients’ parts.
  • Explore the parallels in theory and practice to learn how combined delivery can strengthen your practice and increase safety in the client experience.
  • Review a powerful case study illustrating the real-world, profound impact of thoughtfully combining these two approaches.
