Safety.
We use that word often at Unyte Health. It’s more than a word or a concept — it’s a core value. It drives how we operate, and it forms the foundation of the incredible, life-changing work that therapists, clinicians, educators, and many other types of providers do every day in their communities. As Dr. Stephen Porges says, “If you want to improve the world, start by making people feel safer.”
Safety is the foundation of healing, connection and well-being. It is a prerequisite for the kind of world we envision — one that is rooted in compassion, equity and opportunity. We believe everyone has the right to feel safe, to live their most authentic lives, and to thrive.
And yet, for millions of people globally, safety is actively under threat every day due to individual circumstances, societal barriers and/or system oppression.
We don’t have the answer, but we do have a commitment: to actively participate in helping to cultivate a felt sense of safety, not just for some, but for all.
We pursue this through not only the development of innovative listening therapies that help the nervous system reorient toward safety, but also through tangible steps to expand access to these supportive tools, including:
- Providing Social Impact Scholarships for providers working in under-resourced communities
- Mobilizing support during global crises, including climate disasters and conflict
- Increasing representation of all people groups across our provider network
In this current moment of upheaval, we remain grounded in our purpose, not only in what we believe, but in how we act. Everyone should have the right to feel safe.
With care,
The Unyte Health Team
