Dreampad appearance on Shark Tank

How do you get Mark Cuban, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec and guest-Shark, Bethenny Frankel in bed? For starters, you need an interesting product…and a bed.

Dreampad CEO, Randall Redfield had just that. Redfield pitched the Sharks on the Dreampad, a patented sleep technology guaranteed to help you power down for great sleep.

All the Sharks were eager to try the Dreampad pillow, and hopped in bed together to experience the calming feeling the Dreampad creates.

The Sharks were not able to secure a deal with Redfield for investing in the Dreampad, but all were very complimentary of the pillow’s comfort and revolutionary music technology inside.

Says Redfield, “The Sharks think we overvalue sleep. We respectfully disagree. About one-quarter to a half of the population in the US and in other countries has trouble sleeping. The nice thing about the Dreampad is that it’s doing something about it.”

How the Dreampad Works

Dreampad technology is based on the natural conductivity of the human body. Our bones are natural conductors; in fact, every time you speak the vibration caused by your voice is carried by bone to your inner ear. In the same way, music from the Dreampad travels internally to your ear.

One positive aspect of this is that you’re not disturbing others in the room when you’re using the Dreampad, so you can use it in the bed without waking up your sleeping partner. In fact, you can’t hear the low-frequency music coming from the Dreampad unless you have your head on the pillow.

“It’s a fascinating experience for people using the Dreampad for the first time,” says Redfield.  “Many people don’t believe there is music playing. Then they lay their head on the pillow and instantly experience this calming effect that is like nothing they’ve felt before. It’s humbling to offer a product that can have such a wonderful effect on people.”

As the Dreampad’s specially-treated music moves toward the bony area surrounding your middle and inner ear, it signals your body’s relaxation response.

Clinical data suggests that the calming effect of the Dreampad is a result of the music stimulating the vagus nerve, which in turn activates the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). Our PNS helps us regulate stress – if we’re in a state of hyper-arousal, or elevated stress, the PNS is the part of our nervous system which brings us down to a calmer place where we can relax and fall asleep.

Dreampads are offered in four comfort support levels: Slim, Medium, Firm and Memory. Redfield suggests going with the pillow type you currently use.

Dreampads have a 30-day money-back guarantee.

“We have seen this pillow change people’s lives,” says Redfield. “We know it works, and we’re willing to put our money where our mouth is. If you’re not sleeping better with the Dreampad in 30 nights, send it back and we will refund you. We’re that serious about sleep.”

Where the Dreampad Started

The Dreampad was initially designed as a relaxation tool for children with high levels of anxiety, including those with trauma and autism. As parents and therapists used it, feedback came pouring in. The product worked: it helped calm kids of all ages, going to bed was no longer a chore, kids were sleeping better and behaving better. In many cases, a single child’s improved sleep had shifted the dynamic of the entire household.

Along with this good news there was a repeating comment that stood out. It went something like this: “My son is sleeping so much better since he started using the Dreampad, thank you! Recently, I’ve started ‘borrowing’ it from him while he’s sleeping and it’s helping my own sleep, too. When are you going to create a Dreampad pillow for adults?”

Yes, parents were shamelessly stealing their child’s Dreampad to deal with their own sleep problems.

From there, the Dreampad has grown into an international sleep solution.

Dreampad Research

The Dreampad is supported by published research by Columbia University Medical and others.

The Dreampad has been clinically proven to help people fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. All noted the calming effect the Dreampad has on users, which allows the body and mind to relax and fall asleep.
