iPod Classic – Set the iPod hold switch after you have made your selection, or when it is not in use. This will prevent the iPod controls from inadvertently waking up the iPod and using unnecessary power. Use the Pause button, or turn the iPod off by holding the Play/Pause button for two seconds when you are not listening.

iPod Touch – Press Home button until the Slide to Power off image appears, then slide the green arrow to fully turn off the iPod when not in use.

Use the iPod and iLs Amplifier regularly. For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (draining the battery all the way to empty, but do not store with empty battery).
