Behind the scenes of Unyte-iLs is a team of dedicated employees spread across North America, focused on imbuing kindness into everything they do—both at work and home. One such employee is Program Consultant—or PC as they’re more affectionately called—Leah Dawang.

Leah is an effervescent ray of light; authentic, conscientious and full of heart, she brings a smile to the faces of her coworkers while simultaneously putting them at ease. It’s safe to say she does the same with the clients she works with.

Leah’s been with Unyte since July, 2020. A graduate from Regis University with a degree in Marketing and Communications, after a few years working in marketing, she took time off to travel the world, eventually ending up at a leadership academy in Spain.

Upon her return from Spain, Leah created her own private consulting practice to help people learn to receive love. It was this practice that would eventually lead Leah to Unyte-iLs.

We sat down with Leah to learn more about her work at Unyte and how she’s helping to shape her clients’ lives.

What drew you to Unyte-iLs?

For the last 11 years, I’ve been on a journey of clearing the way in my own life. From a little girl, bouts of anxiety and panic ravaged my inner world and then spilled over into my outer world. In college, I became clinically depressed which morphed into a seven year battle with an eating disorder. I’ve always been interested in psychology and through my trials, learned as much as I possibly could out of necessity. After experiencing a significant amount of healing throughout my process, I realized helping others navigate toward the light and clear the way for Love is exactly what I want to give my life to.

I remember having a physiological reaction after reading the [Unyte-iLs] website. I literally started sweating—romantic, I know. I was specifically drawn to the hope of using skills developed in previous experiences toward something that truly matters, bot just for myself but for others too. My life’s passion is to clear the way so that people may receive and give Love as they are created to and, from my perspective, Unyte-iLs create tools that help do just that from a physiological level.

Tell us a bit more about your consulting practice.

It’s life consulting focused on helping people understand what is blocking them from receiving and giving Love. I help people identify what agreements they made subconsciously during a stressful or traumatic event and then walk them through breaking that agreement so that they can receive and give Love like they are created to.

Let’s talk about your role within Unyte-iLs, specifically, what do you do?

At Unyte I am a Program Consultant specializing in mental health practitioners. So typically when a mental health practitioner, whether they be a somatic experiencing practitioner or a psychologist, a psychotherapist—anyone that is focusing on the psyche and mental well-being—would come to me. And then I describe how our programs, usually the SSP (Safe and Sound Protocol), but our other programs as well, create the ability for someone to connect with themselves, others and the world around them. All from a physiological point of safety.

What is one thing you want people to know about your role?

The biggest thing I’d want people to know about my role is that it is my sincerest honor speaking to practitioners. I deeply respect their capacity to walk alongside those who are suffering, offering space to process brokenness and empowering them with tools to experience redemption. I want all practitioners to live out their purpose of helping others holistically and successfully.

What motivates you?

Love. Sacrificial Love who chooses to stay when leaving is an option. Love who sees good in all things. Love who creates and transforms just by being, not by doing. Love who lays down his life for his friends. Love who says, “Your broken places are where I find my way in. Your experience isn’t a waste. I prefer redeemed things.”

Are you working on any passion projects, if so, what are they?

Yes! I am always writing something. I’ll be in the middle of a sentence and say, “That’s it, I’m writing a poem about this.”

What are three ways you love to spend your free time?

Adventuring with my incredible husband. Learning about neurology, psychology and theology. Writing.

How do you meditate?

I lay down on the floor in the fetal position. It’s the best way I’ve found to connect with my heart and give it the courage to open up and receive Love.

Do you have a favourite meditation?

The Inheritance by Graham Cooke.

What Podcasts are you currently listening to, if any?

The Connected Life, The Place We Find Ourselves.

What quote or mantra do you live by?

“You were born to be loved.”

Is there anything else you would like Unyte’s audience to know about you?

I believe in you! I believe in your motivations, in your expertise, and in your gift for holding space for others. I believe in your compassion and your intuition. I am obsessed with your success in helping others navigate toward wellbeing. I believe in your heart for others and will always be here cheering you on.
