Get to Know the Unyte Team: Meet Tim Bush

Our team of Program Consultants (PCs) collectively shares a genuine drive to help others. One person who truly exemplifies this is PC Tim Bush.

A Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), Tim brings a level of expertise and patience to his work that one would expect of a former university baseball player. It’s clear Tim’s athletic background (he played first and third base) has helped shape him into a strong leader who values teamwork. 

Despite his love of baseball, it was a strong desire to want to help people—particularly kids—that led him to not only pursue a B.A. in Psychology but to then go on to receive his Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant degree. 

A real people-person, Tim always wanted to work with kids. Before joining the Unyte-iLs team, Tim worked in a pediatric day setting with kids aged three to six. He eventually moved into an alternative learning setting and then schools, helping guide his young patients as they worked to move past the hurdles in their life.

Being able to establish a connection with the people he works with is what’s most important to Tim.

What drew you to Unyte-iLs?

The company was seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to deliver OT services while using the SSP (Safe and Sound Protocol) and Focus System. I was excited about the opportunity to work with kids and learn about auditory therapy tools!

What about psychology interests you?

I have always been fascinated by abnormal psychology. That is what originally piqued my interest in psychology, but I found that I was able to serve kids with mental health challenges after I completed my degree.  

What do you want people to know about your role? 

In my role I have the privilege of speaking to Occupational Therapists and clinicians in other disciplines about our tools and how it can increase the effectiveness of therapeutic Interventions and enrich their clients’ lives. Recently, I have enjoyed the opportunity to onboard new Programs Consultants and help them grow into their role with Unyte-iLs.

What motivates you?

I enjoy seeing how the company has grown since the acquisition and my motivation comes from being a part of that growth.

Are you working on any passion projects?

I enjoy getting my hands dirty and cultivating the ground to plant seeds. It is so rewarding 

to watch the crop grow and know that animals such as deer and turkeys are benefitting 

From the nutrients in the plants. Springtime food plots can help increase egg production in turkeys and nourish deer so they have healthier fawns!  

What are three interests or hobbies you have? 

Fishing,—especially fly fishing—hunting, music and sports (these two are definitely tied!)  

Where is your favourite place to meditate?

My favorite place to meditate is in the mountains of Colorado. I find that fly fishing is a great meditation in it’s own way. I also enjoy sitting on the deck and meditating at our family property in Arkansas.  

Do you have a favorite meditation?

I really enjoy the [Unyte-iLs] Body Scan Meditation, I like it for its simplicity.

I have been listening to the Meateater podcast with Steven Rinella, he is one of my favorite outdoorsmen, conservationists and writers. I also enjoy the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
