Professional Use

iLs is based on the fact that we can change our brain – we can essentially re-wire it through specific and repeated stimulation, a concept known as neuroplasticity. As in building strength and endurance with physical exercise, we are able to build neurological pathways and synaptic activity at any age.

iLs trains for brain/body integration through a staged approach, starting with the fundamentals of sensory integration and then extending through more complex cognitive functions, including language, self-expression and social skills.

How do I integrate iLs into my practice?

iLs is a complementary approach which can be integrated into a broad variety of practices such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, ADHD coaching, Autism specialties, psychology/counseling,  neurofeedback, sports coaching, chiropractic care and others.

Professional Use

Occupational Therapy

“At STAR Center our therapists use iLs for a few key reasons: it can be customized to each individual’s needs, the bone conduction delivery is a wonderful vestibular supplement, and the quality of the music is remarkable.”

Lucy Jane Miller, PhD, OTR/L, author of Sensational Kids, Founder of SPD Foundation

Professional Use

Speech Therapy & Audiology

“I would highly recommend the iLs to SLP’s for treating patients with sensory, reading, or auditory processing disorders. We have seen amazing results using the iLs VoicePro.”

Shannon L. Williamson, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

Physical Therapy

“Our gains were so dramatic that our principal will buy 2 units for next years’ use….Probably our most dramatic case was with our student with autism. He read on grade level with 100% comprehension on his assessment last week, and his mother reports he does not get car sick anymore. We are so excited about the results at our school!”

Ilyne Engel, Physical Therapist

Professional Use

Towards the end of the year we had no issues in the classroom… we had a student teacher who came in and she could not figure out who the students were who had an IEP.”

Ashley Daigler, Special Ed Teacher

iLs for Professionals

Autism Specialists

“When I began using iLs as tool with children on the spectrum, I immediately saw their anxiety reduced. They were more attentive, calmer, and overall more available to me so that when I implement other therapies with them we see real progress…When a child’s movement, balance and regulation improve, the child feels successful. My goal as a therapist is to increase self-esteem and social skills; with these new skills a child can then go out and play with kids, learn to ride a bike… he can be more active.”

Deborah Merritt, PhD, LPC, ABA Post-Graduate Certificate

Psychology and Counseling

“We consistently see excellent results with iLs with regard to attention and learning problems…iLs works at a neurological level so it’s a great complement to the behavioral, cognitive and medical approaches we use at Hallowell Centers.”

Edward Hallowell, MD, Harvard Medical faculty, author of Driven to Distraction

Improving attention, emotional balance and vitality.

iLs Program Structure

Expanding upon the psychoacoustic techniques originally developed in Europe and refined over the past 20 years in the U.S. by iLs’ management, iLs programs combine auditory stimulation with balance, movement and visual motor activities. Each product has a specific listening schedule, which includes movement activities performed simultaneous with the listening. These movement activities comprise 15-20 minutes of each listening session, and are explained in a Playbook which accompanies each product.

iLs clinic programs are typically 20-40 sessions in length, with a frequency of 3 or more sessions per week. Each session is 60-80 minutes long, with 15-20 minutes allotted for the integration activities. The balance of each session is spent doing creative and/or relaxing activities such as drawing, puzzles, fine-motor games, or just relaxing in a comfortable chair.
