This webinar features two experts in music-based research: Dr. Jacek Kolacz, Research Assistant Professor, Ph.D., and Rebecca Knowles, OTD, OTR/L, RYT. Advancements in Music-Based Interventions: Evidence and Applications will dive into the latest research on PTSD, anxiety, depression, trauma and psychosocial challenges, with a focus on expanding your trauma-informed practice toolkit with interventions such as the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP).

Dr. Jacek Kolacz is the Principal Investigator in the groundbreaking study at The Ohio State University on SSP in PTSD treatment, which recently received $3.8 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Defense. He will share study results, ongoing trials and next steps, exploring the dynamic relationship between clinical practice and research.

Rebecca Knowles will discuss new updates on the real-world effectiveness of SSP in treating anxiety, depression, trauma and beyond.

Dr. Jacek Kolacz Research Assistant Professor, PhD

Jacek Kolacz, PhD is a researcher at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Managing Director of the Traumatic Stress Research Consortium (TSRC) at the Kinsey Institute at Indiana University. His work brings wearable sensors and neurophysiologically-informed assessments into clinics. He uses these methods to track client progress, build knowledge about how treatments impact physiological regulation, and to help make existing therapies more effective.

Rebecca Knowles, OTD, OTR/L, RYT

Rebecca is an occupational therapist and yoga teacher who specializes in sensory processing and mental health. She leads research and education at Unyte.
